Dr. Kim received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During his time at Johns Hopkins, he was awarded a Howard Hughes Research Fellowship and performed research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He completed his general surgery training at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is a board certified general and thoracic surgeon.

Dr. Kim’s research program focuses on understanding lung cancer metastasis using novel ex vivo three-dimensional lung models.
