Innovative holographic particle velocimeter: a multibeam technique

Abstract

A multibeam holographic particle velocimeter technique is described, which involves suppressed speckle noise, decreased depth of field of the image and efficient use of laser energy. The applications to measurement of 3D velocity and vorticity distributions in turbulent flows are reported.
