Abstract

This self-directed learning module highlights advances in the evaluation and treatment of injuries to the pelvis and lower extremity. It is a section of the chapter on rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and soft tissue disorders of the Self-Directed Medical Knowledge Program Study Guide for practitioners and trainees in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This section contains information regarding anatomy, biomechanics, clinical examination, and clinical syndromes. Special attention is given to sports and work-related injuries, the special considerations of the female athlete, gait, orthotics, and fractures.
