Adding ct measurements of coronary artery calcification to nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging for risk stratification

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Coronary artery disease remains one of the main causes of mutuality and morbidity in the current century. Multiple tools are used in the diagnosis and assessment of suspected patients with CAD. Despite that, establishing the diagnosis of CAD remains a challenge in certain cases. In this chapter, we will review one of the most commonly used tools in the workup of patients with suspected CAD, nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Then we will discuss the incremental role of coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring among patients undergoing MPI.
