Abstract

Purpose of Review: In this article, we review the fundamentals and current clinical data regarding suprachoroidal corticosteroid injections for the management of macular edema. Recent Findings: Recently conducted clinical trials have demonstrated both the efficacy, duration, and favorable side effect profile of suprachoroidal injections in managing macular edema due to varying ocular diseases. Summary: A novel and promising drug delivery method with minimal side effects, suprachoroidal injections, appears to be of utility in the medical management of macular edema associated with uveitis, diabetic macular edema, and macular edema resulting from retinal vascular occlusions.
