Abstract
Much has been learned about the prostate gland in the recent past, but much remains to be explored, especially with regard to diagnosing and treating carcinoma of the gland. It is hoped that this article provides the reader with a basic knowledge of the prostate and its pathology that can serve as a foundation on which to build as advances occur.
