Abstract

Volume overload is a common problem for patients with end-stage kidney disease receiving dialysis. While the clinical examination is essential to identifying marked volume overload, it is less reliable in subtle increases in volume. In this narrative review, we describe several new techniques that to assess volume objectively, and thus, hold potential for improving the volume management in patients on dialysis.
