Abstract

With reference to the short communication entitled “Journal Metrics in Psychiatry: What do the rankings tell us?", by Diaz AP et al, published in the Journal of Affective Disorders (2021;287:354-358), the authors acknowledge that the ranking of psychiatric journals in Scimago was erroneously referred to the year 2020. We accessed the SCIMAGO ranking on 5th March 2020 and therefore if reflects the year 2018 (Scimago is updated in June). In the updated SCIMAGO ranking of 2020 (that reflects the year 2019), the ranking for the psychiatry and mental health category is as follows: World Psychiatry, Annual Review of Clinical Psychology, The Lancet Psychiatry, JAMA Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, Alzheimer's and Dementia, Clinical Psychology Review, Journal of Abnormal Psychology, Schizophrenia Bulletin, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, Health Psychology Review, Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines, Neuropsychopharmacology, Developmental Review, Psychological Medicine, British Journal of Psychiatry, Translational Psychiatry. We reported as a limitation that the metrics were not exhaustive, but we recognize the failure of not having included the CiteScore, in which the ranking of 2020 (that reflects the year 2019) for the psychiatry and mental health category is as follows: World Psychiatry, Annual Review of Clinical Psychology, The Lancet Psychiatry, JAMA Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry.” The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
