Abstract
In this paper, the elastic properties of textured short-fiber reinforced PBT composites are studied. Two orthogonal Young's moduli of composite specimens of planar geometry, and non-trivial orientation distributions, are determined experimentally, for various fiber concentrations. The in-plane shear modulus and a Poisson's ratio are also obtained. The experimental results are compared with the prediction of the Mori-Tanaka theory for textured composites.
