Abstract
Survival rates of mice treated with vitamin A are enhanced following injections with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. This appears to be due to increased host resistance, rather than to a direct toxic effect on the microorganisms. If it is effective in humans, vitamin A could have clinical application for this purpose.
