Abstract

The possibility of a partial or complete substitution of traditional aggregates in lightweight concretes with those made of fly ash is investigated in this paper. For this purpose, a survey of the literature on the desirable mechanical properties is conducted and extensive experiments are carried out. These experiments show that this substitution is perfectly feasible. It is also desirable from the standpoint of the policy of reusing industrial waste.
