Management of early rectal cancers

Abstract

A small subset of rectal cancers can be managed without the need for radical surgical excision. With proper patient selection and evaluation, as well as surgical and adjuvant treatment, selected patients with rectal cancer may achieve a high rate of cure with minimal morbidity.
