Abstract

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common problem worldwide, with an estimated 20 million patients in the US alone. Although most patients with PAD are asymptomatic, it is common to present with lower extremity symptoms such as claudication and sometimes with atypical lower extremity symptoms. A much smaller percentage of patients may present with symptoms of critical limb ischemia.
