Abstract

In the last 6 years there has been a great interest in the research and development of medications to treat hypertension. There have been investigations of entirely new classes of drugs that may significantly alter current therapeutic approaches. This paper reviews what is known about some of these new agents, which may prove useful in the future treatment of hypertension.
