Abstract

This chapter on pathology of the penis focuses on comprehensive topics spanning the nonneoplastic and neoplastic spectrum of lesions involving the penis and scrotum with emphasis on recent advancements in terms of diagnostic knowledge, technical procedures, molecular pathology along with application and integration of these areas as part of current trends in medicine. It provides an overview with updates to the reader on general topics including epidemiology in addition to review of histopathological features and most recent revisions in classification and staging systems apart from illustrated examples of recently described entities. Updated information regarding molecular pathology as it applies to specific diseases in regard to diagnostics and therapeutics is also provided.
