Abstract

In spite of the existence of up-to-date general purpose programs for the analysis of three-dimensional structures it can be useful for engineering offices to have a specific code for the static and dynamic analysis of tall buildings under horizontal loadings for day to day design purposes. Such a program is here presented, based on a pseudo-three-dimensional multilevel substructuring procedure. This approach seems to be the most convincing one for microcomputers, since it stems from a minimum of simplifying assumptions, allowing therefore for a great generality.
