Abstract

A high 18F-FDG uptake was found in a mesh of promontofixation in a 74-year-old woman who underwent a PET/CT scan for initial staging of cervical cancer. The patient underwent a laparoscopic treatment for a prolapsed uterus 7 years before. Promontofixation can be associated with complications due to chronic inflammation. 18F-FDG-PET may diagnose chronic inflammation of the mesh.
