Abstract

There is controversy regarding the reliability of 67Ga scanning for detecting hilar and mediastinal metastates in lung cancer. Approximately 90 percent of primary lung carcinomas of all histologic types are avid for gallium, a finding confirmed by numerous investigators. However, there is considerably more variation in the figures reported in recent studies of detection of hilar and mediastinal metastases with gallium.
