Symbolic manipulation software and the study of differential equations

Abstract

In this note we describe some of our experiences with symbolic manipulation software for the analysis of differential equations. We give several examples from our work on semilinear diffusion equations and from a bifurcation analysis of a nonlinear problem in combustion.
