Abstract
The study of a fistula has not aged enough to answer all questions. However since the inception of the dialyzer in 1943 we have made significant progress in treating patients with end stage renal disease using dialysis. The function of dialysis has proven to perform best with a fistula. In our writing we have attempted to present in the best possible manner the approach that should be taken to create, maintain and treat the dysfunctional arteriovenous fistula. We have included scientific facts, standardized guidelines, our experience and the analysis of many research articles along with the brief description of the cutting technology that is or may soon be available to our aid in managing the "AV FISTULA".
