Abstract

The mass spectra of halogenosubstituted diphenylacetylenes show hydrogen scrambling between the two phenyl rings. As with the halogenobenzenes the randomization process occurs i the molecular ion rather than in the [M – 1] ion as is the case for methyldiphenylacetylene (I, × = CH3).
