Abstract

Synthetic textile vascular prosthesis manufacturers have to disclose information on the usable length of their product. The usable length is the length of prosthesis available for implantation. But the problem lies in how to measure it. A stress-strain curve has been developed based on the characteristic behavior of the prosthesis. The method provides the manufacturer and surgeon the value of the usable length under a prescribed load.
