Dr. Christensen received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2014. He then completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency and fellowships in clinical informatics and clinical chemistry, all at Houston Methodist Hospital. Upon completion, he was appointed as a staff pathologist.

Dr. Christensen’s clinical focus is informatics and analytics. He developed the Houston Methodist Respiratory Pathogen Epidemiology Snapshot and is an Emerging Technologies and Techniques section editor for the journal Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Christensen is a member of the Texas Society of Pathologists, the College of American Pathologists, the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, and the American Medical Informatics Association.

Research interests

Dr. Christensen’s research focuses on the generation and use of real-time data to improve laboratory and hospital operations.
