Personal profile

With passion for medicine and surgery, Rose Khavari, MD received her Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas with highest honors and completed her residency in Urology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Khavari has been an Alpha Omega Alpha member since her junior year of medical school. During that time she was awarded the American Federation of Research Award (AFAR) scholarship for a summer research grant at Harvard Medical School where she studied regional cerebral auto regulation during orthostatic changes. Under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Boone, Dr. Khavari received advanced fellowship training in male and female continence, pelvic floor reconstructive surgery, and neurourology at Houston Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Training in voiding dysfunction, urinary tract and pelvic reconstruction with a focus on prosthetics, soft tissue reconstruction, bowel reconstruction and a supplemental experience in colorectal, gynecologic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery has allowed her to become a well-rounded and highly skilled reconstructive surgeon in the growing field of Neurourology.

In October of 2012 she joined The Urology Associates at the Houston Methodist Hospital. She serves as director of research at the Center for Restorative Pelvic Medicine. She became a faculty member involved in clinical training of Urology, as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology residents affiliated with Houston Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. In 2012, she and her team established the Neurourology and Transitional Urology Clinic and serves as clinic director. This clinic is devoted to the care of pediatric patients transitioning to adulthood with neurologic/congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract. Using her comprehensive and advanced training through residency and fellowship, combined with her interest in research and teaching, Dr. Khavari plans to build and lead a career in urogynecology, female urology, neurourology, and pelvic reconstruction.
