Abstract

Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare and frequently misdiagnosed condition. It is usually first discovered at laparotomy or laparoscopy. We report a case of PMP presented with symptoms mimicking right-sided heart failure. An extracardiac mass was detected by two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography (2DTTE). Computed tomographic (CT) scan showed features suggestive of PMP and the diagnosis was confirmed at laparotomy. To our knowledge this is the first report of PMP presented with features of right-sided heart failure.
