Abstract

The dilute-short ear (d-se) complex of the mouse can boast of a long rich history of genetic study. Complementation analysis of many mutations within this complex has identified a number of genes in this small segment of chromosome 9 that affect diverse developmental pathways. Recently, recombinant DNA techniques applied to the analysis of the old d mutation have made this complex available for study at the molecular level.
